Me in the Wilderness

The Dilger Annual Hikes

Every year for the last several years, I have gone hiking with my brothers, brother-in-law, and dad. This year, we also included my girlfriend, sister, and other friends for a total of 9 backpackers. We generally try to choose hikes that take us into areas of the wilderness that are not accessible by day hikers. Not that we hate or are scared of other hikers, but rather we feel that if an area is day-hike accessible we may as well do it in a day, rather than use up the one weekend every summer when we all get 3-5 days off in a row. This generally means that we do a hike that starts in one area, and finishes a long distance away.
