Research Interests

My research interests are focused on processing multidimensional (M-D) signals. Specifically, I am exploring ways of using neural networks to recognize and classify objects based upon various criteria, such as velocity profile, shape, size, and other characteristics that can be obtained from M-D filtering of the object. The main concern is not in obtaining an accurate rendition of the object at the receiver end but in extracting out sufficient information so that the neural network can accurately classify objects.

Currently, I am using a 3-D linear trajectory filter that Dr. Bruton and Norm Bartley developed to track an object moving in space-time. Intelligence is built into the whole system by employing a neural network at the output of the filter.
